Wallace House opened as an historic house museum in 1897 during Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. This year we mark 125 years of historic preservation at Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage on the occasion Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

This historic houses tour explores the history of the preservation of Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage from the Wallace House’s opening by the Revolutionary Memorial Society of New Jersey in 1897 and Sen. Joseph S. Frelinghuysen, Sr.’s relocation of Old Dutch Parsonage in 1913 to their donation to the State of New Jersey in 1947 and the ongoing work of the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association today as we prepare for the 250th anniversaries of New Jersey’s first Constitution and the American Revolution in New Jersey in 2026.
