During this workshop, artist Yuan Annie Zhuang will guide you through a walk in the Bowery neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. Upon arrival, each participant will be handed a map made specifically for "Lotus Root Walk @Bowery ’’ and tasked with the challenge of seeking all of the 7 site-specific installations of metal-fabricated lotus root slice in the neighborhood. Participants are allowed to explore the map on their own and meet back at :iidrr gallery, or walk with the artist.
Together, we will look for the site-specific installations and explore the histories of the Bowery neighborhood. Come enjoy the summer sunset and chat about how this area of the city relates to the lotus root plant.
Duration: 60 minutes
Bring: water, snacks, and a curious mindset.
