Literature to Life presents a selection from their Signature Performance of James Baldwin’s novel If Beale Street Could Talk. Narrated by the story’s young heroine, it portrays one family’s struggle for justice in a society where institutional discrimination threatens to tear lives apart. The story’s themes continue to resonate powerfully with contemporary audiences from diverse backgrounds.
