A Winter Olympic—themed pond hockey celebration featuring NHL Alumni on the ice—all in support of young women rising above breast cancer.
The Northern Roots Pond Hockey Charity Classic returns to New York City for an unforgettable, FREE, family-friendly day of hockey, community, and impact.
This one-of-a-kind charity event brings together NHL Alumni, athletes, hockey fans, families, and community supporters for a full day of pond hockey—style games, inspired by Winter Olympic host cities and the global spirit of the game.
Hosted at Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex Skyrink, the event raises critical funds and awareness for the iRise Above Foundation, which empowers young women to heal, live well, and cultivate an outstanding quality of life during and after breast cancer.
This is hockey with heart—where sport, resilience, and community come together to support women rising above.
All are welcome — whether you’re a lifelong hockey fan or attending your very first game.
Young women diagnosed with breast cancer face unique and often overlooked challenges—long after treatment ends. Too often, they feel unsupported during survivorship.
The iRise Above Foundation exists to change that by providing integrative wellness programs, community connection, and healing-centered experiences designed for women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s—so they can reclaim their power and continue rising above the residual effects of cancer.
Funds raised through this event directly support iRise Above’s mission-driven programs, helping young women not only survive but truly live well.
Lace up for a cause.
