Finally Finish Your Draft: A Writer and First-Time Author Workshop

Published: July 12, 2026; Aithor: Julia Sonrisa

When: July 15, 2026

Learn how to move from finished draft to published author in this publishing workshop for writers, first-time authors, and indie authors.

You have already done one of the hardest parts: you have a draft.

Maybe it is finished, almost finished, or sitting in that frustrating middle ground where the words are on the page, but you are not sure what comes next. You know it needs editing. You know it needs formatting. But the path from “I have a manuscript” to “this is ready for readers” can feel confusing, technical, and easy to put off.

Finally Finish Your Draft is a live online workshop for writers who have a manuscript and want a clear, practical plan for getting it ready for the world.

In this session, we will walk through the two big stages between draft and finished book: editing and formatting. You will learn how to tell what kind of editing your manuscript needs, how to approach self-editing without losing your voice, and how to think about developmental edits, line edits, and copy edits in the right order.

Then we will look at formatting: how to prepare a clean, professional interior for print and ebook, including chapter structure, typography, margins, scene breaks, front matter, back matter, and export-ready files.

This workshop is for writers who are tired of staring at a draft without a clear next step. Instead of giving you a vague “just revise it” message or an overwhelming checklist, we will help you understand what your manuscript needs now, what can wait, and how to know when each step is complete.

You will leave with a clearer path for getting your draft edited, formatted, and ready for readers.

Fiction and nonfiction writers are welcome.

This event is sponsored by WriteLoom (https://writeloom.app/), a publishing platform that helps writers plan, write, edit, format, and prepare their books for release.
