In the Mackay Room, and Room 2, Communities Promoting Reading is hosting an inter-generational book-club and brunch. An inter-generational book-club is expected to improve literacy among women and children, while lowering social isolation and loneliness of three generations. The relationships formed will combat negative stereotypes and ageism.

Elease A. Wiggins a former Bergen Community College Adjunct and Bergen County Job Center Work First New Jersey Career Counselor, founded Communities Promoting Reading. Communities Promoting Reading is a nonprofit organization that supports low-income student parents.

At the book-club and brunch, mothers will engage in a 90-minute book club meeting facilitated by Elease A. Wiggins. While their children will participate in story time and various fun learning activities with young adults from Lodi High School, Janis E. Dismus Middle School, and Bergen Community College, along with members of the All-Abilities Seniors group of Englewood. After 90 minutes, the groups will reunite to participate in brunch which includes a social mixer food, drinks, and lite music.
