About the Book: In this very personal book—the result of seven years of traveling and tasting, listening and observing for her award-winning Hulu show Taste the Nation—Padma Lakshmi compiles more than 100 recipes from the immigrant and Indigenous communities she visits, as well as many from her own family, showing us what really comprises American cuisine.

About the Author: Padma Lakshmi is an Emmy-nominated food expert, television producer, and New York Times bestselling author. She is the creator of the new competition series America’s Culinary Cup on CBS, and of the critically-acclaimed Hulu series Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi. She also served as host and executive producer of Bravo’s Top Chef for nineteen seasons.

The Union Square Greenmarket Book Signings are produced in collaboration with Kitchen Arts & Letters, a New York City bookstore specializing in food and drink. Located on the Upper East Side, they sell cookbooks and a wide range of food history, scholarship, and food writing.
