Published: October 29, 2022; Aithor: Julia Sonrisa

When: November 4, 2022

About the book:

I love(ish) New York City is a hilarious relatable collection of essays, illustrations, and cartoons about the always interesting, sometimes frustrating, and endlessly entertaining quirks of living in the Big Apple.

About the author:

Ali Solomon is a cartoonist and teacher who lives in New York with her husband, two daughters, and an insane amount of comic books. She is the illustrator of the book I Am “Why Do I Need Venmo” Years Old (Running Press), and her work appears regularly in the New Yorker and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency.

About the moderator:

Jess deCourcy Hinds, a proud resident of the Forest Hills/Kew Gardens area, grew up in Brooklyn and has known a wide range of emotions towards her city — but mostly love(ish)! A longtime librarian, Jess now teaches part-time at the Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences at Queens College, CUNY, and writes for publications such as the New York Times, Literary Hub, and Insider.
