About the event

Frank H. Wu, President of Queens College, will use history, law, social science, and personal experience to present a portrait of Asian immigrants and their American-born progeny. His presentation will offer a new perspective on the civil rights movement, integrating Asian Americans in a manner that advances the cause of social justice through bridge-building.

About the speaker

Frank H. Wu serves as the eleventh President of Queens College. He was a member of the faculty at Howard University, the nation’s leading historically black college/university (HBCU), for a decade. Frank is the author of Yellow: Race in America Beyond Black and White. Before his academic career, he held a clerkship with the late U.S. District Judge Frank J. Battisti in Cleveland and practiced law with the firm of Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco. He received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. with honors from the University of Michigan.

This lecture will be on the CUNY SPH campus, but those who are unable to attend in person will be able to tune in to a livestream of the lecture via Zoom. All registrants should RSVP. Virtual attendees will receive the livestream link after registering.
