Zhe Zhang is a distinguished pianist and educator with a rich background in music performance and education. In 2019, he performed with the “Xianfeng Mingyue” ensemble on an international tour, sharing Chinese piano works with audiences in Singapore. Currently, he teaches at the Central Conservatory of Music in China as Director of Online Programs, and the Conservatory’s high school program and continues to influence the global music community through masterclasses, lectures, and performances. He graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in China, the Manhattan School of Music in the US, and the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK, known for his warm and passionate performances. Zhe Zhang has performed internationally, including solo concerts in New York for three consecutive years (2012-2014), where he premiered several original works. He has participated in various cultural exchange events and fundraising activities, such as performing for the New York Police Association at the Harvard Club. In 2017, he produced and starred in the classical music event. On Oct. 4, 2024, he is going to make his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York.
In 2006, he ranked second in the national entrance exam for the Central Conservatory’s high school program, studying under esteemed pianists Zhiwei Zhang and Xinning Zhang, and later receiving guidance from Professor Qifang Li. During his studies in the US, he worked privately with Jerome Lowenthal, former chair of the piano department at the Juilliard School, and was mentored by the renowned Chinese pianist Chengzong Yin.
He has participated in various cultural exchange events and fundraising activities, such as performing for the New York Police Association at the Harvard Club. In 2017, he produced and starred in the classical music event Silence — Piano and Song in Beijing, which attracted over a thousand attendees and received widespread acclaim.
Dedicated to nurturing young talent, his students have been accepted into prestigious institutions worldwide. He launched the “Zhe Zhang Piano Intensive Camp” in 2019, offering high-intensity training sessions. He has also held numerous roles in international piano competitions and served as the artistic director for the Chinese division of the World Piano Teachers Association.

Notably, in 2018, his 10-year-old student Leo Bailey-Yang broke a world record by becoming the youngest performer to play all 27 Chopin études at the National Opera Center in the US, surpassing a previous record held by Lang Lang. Zhe Zhang has held prominent roles in the classical music community, including serving as the secretary general of the Chopin International Junior Piano Competition and artistic director for the Chinese division of the World Piano Teachers Association.
He is dedicated to nurturing young talent, with his students being accepted into prestigious institutions worldwide. Zhang also created the “Zhe Zhang Piano Intensive Camp,” known for its high-intensity training sessions that have helped many students achieve significant progress in a short period.
