This event showcases the possible intersection of cities, geography, and storytelling from the fresh perspectives of high school and early university students.
Theme: Exploring Geographic Information Storytelling and Emergence of Youth
Focus: Students will present their storytelling projects, integrating regional and global narratives through the lens of Geographical Information Systems (GIS), reflecting the Gen Z viewpoint in Japan.
Six talented students will share their insights on various subjects, including Kyoto’s transportation systems, world religions, and the culinary contrasts between Japanese and NYC cultures, using platforms RE: EARTH (https://reearth.io/) and/or PLATEAU (https://www.mlit.go.jp/plateau/). These presentations are part of a program of Kyoto University and their visit to NYC, but the event is open to the public.
