Paulo Freire Initiative at Columbia University launches an annual series of events titled Praxis Dialogues, which proposes engaging and transformative dialogues on practices, projects, programs, and public policies observed in diverse educational settings in the United States, Brazil, and worldwide. Utilizing the Freirean Praxis Action-Reflection-Action, this event builds on the articulation between academic scholarship and practical lessons, recommendations, and knowledge emerging from the contemporary implementation of critical and popular educational frameworks.
An evening of theoretical reflection and practical analysis drawn from the powerful experience of anti-racist education initiatives in Brazil. The focus will be on the guest’s extensive academic production and her practical leadership in the field of anti-racist childhood education, as well as on the experience of the Escola Afro-brasileira Maria Felipa.

A Iniciativa Paulo Freire na Universidade de Columbia lança uma série anual de eventos intitulada Praxis Dialogues (Diálogos da Práxis), que propõe diálogos engajadores e transformadores em torno de práticas, projetos, programas e políticas públicas observados em diversos contextos educacionais nos Estados Unidos, no Brasil e no mundo. Utilizando a estrutura da Práxis Freiriana de Ação-Reflexão-Ação, este evento baseia-se na articulação entre o saber acadêmico e as lições práticas, recomendações e conhecimentos emergentes da implementação contemporânea de estruturas educacionais críticas e populares.
Uma noite de reflexão teórica e de análise prática, extraída da poderosa experiência de iniciativas de educação antirracista no Brasil. O foco será na vasta produção acadêmica da convidada e em sua liderança prática no campo da educação infantil antirracista, bem como na experiência da Escola Afro-brasileira Maria Felipa.
