Directed by Jim Henson and starring a young Jennifer Connelly, “Labyrinth” is a fantastical adventure that blends live-action and puppetry. The film follows Sarah (Connelly), a teenage girl who, frustrated with babysitting her baby brother Toby, impulsively wishes for goblins to take him away — only for her demand to be granted by Jareth, the Goblin King (David Bowie). Horrified, Sarah enters a surreal maze-like world to rescue Toby, navigating bizarre creatures, shifting landscapes, and Jareth’s tricks. Along the way, she befriends eccentric allies like Hoggle, Ludo, and Sir Didymus, learning lessons about responsibility, maturity, and the power of her imagination. With its dazzling visuals, iconic Bowie soundtrack, and dark fairy-tale charm, “Labyrinth” remains a beloved cult classic.
