Set in 1816, “Haunted Summer” is a historical drama that reimagines the fateful summer when literary icons Lord Byron (Philip Anglim), Percy Bysshe Shelley (Eric Stoltz), Mary Godwin (Alice Krige), and Claire Clairmont (Laura Dern) gathered at a Swiss villa. Amidst stormy nights and opium-fueled discussions, their tangled relationships — romantic rivalries, intellectual debates, and personal demons — inspire Mary to conceive her Gothic masterpiece, “Frankenstein”. The film explores the blurred lines between creativity and madness, passion and destruction, as the group’s hedonistic retreat spirals into emotional chaos.
