Directed by John Landis, “Trading Places” is a satirical comedy about wealth, class, and the randomness of fate. The film follows Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd), a wealthy and snobbish commodities broker, and Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy), a fast-talking street hustler, whose lives are turned upside down when two callous millionaires, the Duke brothers (Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy), conduct a cruel social experiment.

The brothers scheme to swap the lives of Winthorpe and Valentine, forcing Louis into poverty while elevating Billy to luxury, to test whether environment determines success. As the two men uncover the manipulation, they team up for revenge, leading to a chaotic and hilarious climax at the commodities exchange. With sharp humor and sharp social commentary, “Trading Places” remains a classic comedy about greed, privilege, and unlikely alliances.
