“10 Things I Hate About You” is a modern teen romantic comedy loosely based on Shakespeare’s *The Taming of the Shrew*. The story follows Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a new student at Padua High School, who falls for Bianca Stratford (Larisa Oleynik). However, Bianca’s strict father forbids her from dating unless her fiercely independent and sharp-tongued older sister, Kat (Julia Stiles), does too. Desperate, Cameron convinces the rebellious bad boy Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to woo Kat in exchange for payment. What starts as a scheme evolves into genuine romance as Patrick and Kat’s fiery personalities clash and eventually spark real feelings. Meanwhile, Bianca navigates her romantic entanglements, leading to humorous misunderstandings, heartfelt confessions, and a climactic prom showdown. Filled with witty dialogue, iconic scenes (like Ledger’s stadium serenade), and a rebellious spirit, the film is a beloved ’90s classic about love, family, and defying expectations.
