“Onward” (2020), produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Dan Scanlon, is a heartwarming animated fantasy adventure that explores themes of family, brotherhood, and self-discovery. Set in a suburban world where magical creatures have lost touch with their mystical roots and embraced modern technology, the story follows two elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot.

Ian, a shy and insecure teenager, and Barley, his boisterous and adventurous older brother, embark on an extraordinary quest to spend one last day with their late father, who passed away when they were young. On Ian’s 16th birthday, their mother gives them a magical staff and a spell that can bring their father back for 24 hours. However, the spell goes awry, and only the lower half of their father is resurrected. Determined to complete the spell, the brothers set out on a journey filled with challenges, mythical creatures, and unexpected discoveries.

As they navigate their way through a world that has forgotten its magical past, Ian and Barley must rely on each other and confront their insecurities. Along the way, they learn the true meaning of courage, the importance of family, and the power of believing in oneself. “Onward” is a touching and humorous tale that celebrates the bonds of brotherhood and the enduring legacy of love.
