“Anatomy of a Dream”
The Lorenzo Iorio Trio (LIT) is an instrumental project rooted in modern jazz. Hailing from Calabria, Italy, the trio features Lorenzo Iorio on guitar, Alessio Iorio on bass, and Maurizio Mirabelli on drums.
Their latest album, Anatomy of a Dream, released by Filibusta Records, was awarded the national prize Oltre Confine — Il Jazz Italiano nel Mondo, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and managed by MIDJ (Musicisti Italiani di Jazz).
Lorenzo’s original compositions, inspired by the American guitar maestro Bill Frisell, offer a sonic journey designed to guide the listener — like a traveller — through expansive, evocative soundscapes. His music seeks to balance moments of intense musical tension with reflections inspired by voices and figures who have positively influenced the course of human history.
Lorenzo Iorio has also collaborated and recorded with acclaimed artists such as Polish violinist Mateusz Smoczynski (Branford Marsalis), Spanish jazz educator Joan Chamorro, and musicians Vaughan Phoenix, Leon Lacey, and Joel Polo Jr.
