Web: https://www.brooklynwaldorf.orgOn Saturday, December 6, 2025, Brooklyn Waldorf School (BWS) will host its 20th Winter Fair, marking a milestone for this popular, family-friendly Brooklyn event. Winter Fair has no door charge, and all are welcome!
As other events have increased their reliance on technology, Winter Fair is beloved for offering the opposite: a day full of timeless activities for all ages, with no screens involved. Browse the Artisan Holiday Marketplace, make a candle from bees wax, dye a silk scarf with flower pedals, or marvel as children are transported by the simple magic of a puppet show.
All four floors of the school’s historic building will be transformed, with games, music, homemade food, and plenty to see and do for every age. It is often noted that attendees leave Winter Fair with items they treasure for years, such as a jump rope you spin yourself, or a gem discovered by a child in the Crystal Cave. People have been known to visit the Dress Up Photo Booth to take a family photo for their holiday cards.
Brooklyn Waldorf School is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this school year, and it has hosted Winter Fair from the beginning, making this a milestone year for the holiday festival.
“We’re thrilled to create this really unique blend of crafts, food, and imagination each year,” said Leecia Manning, who coordinates Winter Fair. “It’s a place to connect and have such fun together! My daughter loved it as a child, but now she’s at college, and she still wants to come. It never gets old!”
Founded in 2005, Brooklyn Waldorf School is located at 11 Jefferson Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and within a short 3-minute walk of the Franklin Avenue C and S subway stop. The independent, coeducational Early Childhood-8th Grade day school offers a strong Waldorf/Steiner curriculum, based on the values of imagination, integrity, hard work, kindness, personal and social responsibility, and mutual respect.
