Our second annual Multimedia Showcase is back! In this showcase, “The Colors of Identity,” we explore, through distinct art mediums, the fundamental paradox of the human condition, and in particular, of the Latin American experience: under the same sun, we cast different shadows. We share a common humanity, a universal light that bathes us all, and yet, the silhouettes we cast upon the world are profoundly unique, shaped by unrepeatable realities, histories, and struggles.
Pieces include a range from Latin musical theater, American-fused bossa nova, and love poems to Colombian mythological comic books, Puerto Rican portraits, and multimedia collages. To be Latin is to embody this very spectrum of colors, shades, and shadows, proving that identity is not one thing, but everything we carry.
