Web: https://atlanticgallery.org/Atlantic Gallery is pleased to announce Chicanery, a solo exhibition of embroidered works by Blair Martin Cahill, on view from June 24 through July 12, 2025. An opening reception will be held for the artist on Thursday, June 26.
In Chicanery, Cahill uses thread as a storyteller — each stitch layered with emotion, wit, and intention. Her work dances between the sublime and the delightfully outrageous, always grounded in a deep respect for texture, technique, and the narrative power of embroidery.
Cahill holds a BFA from California Institute of the Arts and an MA in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London, Chelsea. Her approach to fiber art reflects a lifelong engagement with color, material, and emotional resonance. In addition to exhibiting widely, she has lectured at the International Sculpture Convention and the College Artists of America. Notably, she has shown work at the Royal College of Art Summer Exhibition on two occasions.
With Chicanery, Cahill invites viewers into a world where thread unravels secrets, humor softens truth, and fabric becomes a site of connection between artist and audience. The exhibition showcases her latest body of work, where thread unravels personal and cultural narratives one stitch at a time.
