We are grateful for the partnership with the Storefront Church/Neighbor at 176 9th Ave, NYC. Neighbor is a community space where we explore what it means to be a good neighbor.

The Gleaning project aims to bring renewal to our marginalized neighbors in NYC and care for our environment through art. We promote a mindset of empowering a disenfranchised population while caring for our environment. Using discarded objects as the raw material for creating art pieces, we bring new life out of what was deemed old and useless.

Noemia Marinho is a Brazilian self-taught visual artist living and working in the NYC metro area. Her art focuses on transforming discarded materials into truthful and evocative pieces. She is the founder and CEO of the Gleaning Project.
