Grammy award-winning Composer Pedro Giraudo demonstrates, through selections of Astor Piazzolla’s music, how he almost single-handedly took tango from small cafes, bars, and dance halls into the world of legitimate, prominent concert venues. Piazzolla’s legacy is conceiving of and composing tango as concert music, opening the door to the classical world, and to leading contemporary composers like Pedro Giraudo, who continue to evolve tango even further into the world of chamber music.
