This week, we welcome Tabreeca Woodside (voice).
Tabreeca Woodside, a native New Yorker, is a versatile and soulful jazz singer whose voice effortlessly blends rich melodies with raw emotion. With a background in gospel music and an education in Jazz Commercial music, she has cultivated a sound that is both timeless and transcendent.
During her studies at Berklee, she was one of four students chosen to tour, performing the original piece “The Movement Revisited,” written by world-renowned jazz bassist, Christian McBride. She has had the privilege of performing with McBride on multiple occasions over the years.
In December 2023, Tabreeca began her passion project, Spirit of Jazz, a series of concerts where she creates a musical experience that addresses life issues and resonates with audiences of all generations.
She has performed and/or recorded with various world-renowned jazz artists such as Cécile McLorin Salvant, Cyrus Chestnut, Grégoire Maret, Warren Wolf, and the great Catherine Russell.
Most recently, Tabreeca performed as a background vocalist for multi-Grammy award-winning jazz artist, Gregory Porter’s 2024 Holiday Tour, ending with a New Year’s Eve concert at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
Having performed at iconic venues like the High Museum in Atlanta to churches across the country, Tabreeca brings an authentic touch to every performance.
