Sublunar Minds is NYC’s favorite everyday party band. For over a decade, Sublunar Minds has been a fixture in the NYC scene, thrilling hipsters, jaded locals, and wide-eyed tourists with their original brand of funk rock. From Harlem funk clubs to Brooklyn indie rock joints, wherever people need a beat to groove to and a song to sing along with, Sublunar Minds is there winning over unsuspecting audiences.
Formed in 2006 by songwriter/guitarist/composer and serial entrepreneur Ben Cockerham, the band’s music combines Talking Heads-style funky grooves with sprechstimme, jazzy horns, a touch of Americana, and lyrics that draw on everything from The Naked Gun to Umberto Eco. He is joined by Frank Vigilante on harmonica and trumpet, James Preston on bass, and Dave Previ on drums for a fresh and funky lineup.
