Théo Girard has been active on the French jazz scene for 20 years. As the 2022 laureate of the “Creative Grant” of the FACE Foundation "Jazz and New Music’’ program, Théo Girard is coming to New York and the Columbia Maison Française with the Mobke Quartet as a first stop in his quest to explore the roots of jazz in the U.S. and the energy of American cities like New York that have inspired it. Future trips will take him to Chicago, New Orleans, and Los Angeles.
Mobke is a French-American quartet with two men and two women musicians from different generations who bring complementary experiences and styles to their music. They will be playing original and improvised jazz music.
