About Tyrone Allen (bass)

Brooklyn-based bassist Tyrone Allen is an active player on stage and in recording studios on the New York scene. You can find him playing in the NYC area most nights of the week with musicians like Matt Mitchell, Nicole Glover, and George Kazemde. A recent release is George Kazemde’s “I Insist” (2021) on Dave Douglas’s Greenleaf label.

About Lex Korten (piano)

Lex Korten was born and raised in New York City. He attended the University of Michigan to study with Geri Allen while pursuing a dual degree in political science and has played with Tyshawn Sorey, Ari Hoenig, Jaleel Shaw, Caroline Davis, Mike Moreno, Joe Farnsworth, and many others.

About Kayvon Gordon (drums)

Kayvon Gordon was born and raised in Detroit. At a young age, he was taken under the mentorship of legendary trumpeter Marcus Belgrave. Later, he went to the University of Michigan where he studied with Robert Hurst and Benny Green. Gordon has performed In Europe, Africa, South Asia, The United Arab Emirates, and North America. He has also been honored to share the stage with Marcus Belgrave, Joe Lovano, Johnny O’Neal, Robert Hurst, Rodney Whitaker, Sullivan Fortner, Ravi Coltrane, JD Allen, and Wynton Marsalis, to name a few. Kayvon Gordon seeks to contribute to his contemporaries’ forward-thinking aesthetic while honoring Detroit’s rich musical legacy.
