Web: https://www.stjvny.org/At this Eucharist of Christmas Day the music of Handel’s beloved oratorio Messiah provides all the liturgical material as well as musical settings of the traditional Christmas Day readings from both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. St John’s professional Choir is joined by the Strathmere Ensemble (harpsichord and stings) and Leonard Bopp (trumpet) for this immersion in choruses and solos from Handel’s great work. Hymns by Handel are also included, such as Joy to the World.
Following the service please join us in Revelation Gallery (the church’s art gallery on site) for a champagne reception (at which soft drinks are also provided).
