“Belfiato Quintet in New York: From Rejcha to DvoЕ™ák’s American Dream”
The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York cordially invites you to a concert of the Belfiato Quintet, one of the most distinguished European chamber ensembles.
Now entering its third decade of artistic excellence, the Belfiato Quintet brings a meticulously crafted program to New York, bridging the gap between classical traditions and modern masterpieces. The evening will showcase the ensemble’s technical mastery through works by Antonín Rejcha, the visionary Karel Husa, and iconic suites by Leoš JanáДЌek and Antonín DvoЕ™ák, including the world-famous “American” Quintet.
The Belfiato Quintet is a leading force in the world of wind chamber music. Founded by graduates of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, its members hold principal positions in the Czech Republic’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Czech Philharmonic and the Prague Philharmonia.
With over 20 years of history, the ensemble has earned international acclaim through awards such as the Classic Prague Award and the Czech Chamber Music Association Prize. They are laureates of prestigious competitions, including ARD Munich and Prague Spring. Their discography under the Supraphon label, including the award-winning Antonín DvoЕ™ák: Wind Quintets, has solidified their reputation for excellence.
Belfiato Quintet performs regularly on major stages worldwide, from London and Tokyo to Paris. Their latest project focuses on the works of Czech-American composer Karel Husa, whose legacy they are now bringing to the heart of New York’s cultural scene.
