TBA
“By no means did we sit weeping on the banks of the waters of Babylon, and our endeavor with respect to the Arts was commensurate with our will to live.” This is how Viktor Ullmann (1898-1944), a leading composer of his generation, described his internment at Terezin. His music is autobiographical, accessible, and pays honor to the past by quoting music from Mozart to folksong as well as drawing from contemporary poetry.
For Yom HaShoah, Artist/Scholar-in-Residence Jeanne Golan will perform the music of Ullmann.
